Riverbed (Studio.2)

OWCS and New Immigrant Services building at 1119 Wellington St W, Ottawa, ON

This project aimed to create a public building for the aforementioned service programs. The idea of a river inviting people in and through the project led to the material choice of slate, common to Ottawa’s riverbeds. The material properties of slate are reflected in the slipping and cracking of the facade, creating moments of light and views inside.
